With 40 years of experience he has mastered the art of being a leader who understands the details of business management as well as precision engineering.

He started his career as a technician at the Schindler Group in 1980 where he worked diligently for 16 years. During his time there he graduated with qualifications in Quality Management, Management Training and Engineering.

Through mentorship from his colleagues at the Schindler Group he took the leap to start his own business. After which the Schindler Group became his first client. He grew this company from a two-man business to ultimately employing 65 staff members, before selling.

After a short break to rejuvenate, he came back ready to take on new challenges and launched GSIV. A business that now offers designer security systems to the South African Government and is categorised as one of the state’s critical services.

His ability to adapt and grow has made him an industry leader. Although the first years of his career focused solely on his technical skill set, his focus and determination molded his management skills and now he successfully manages business strategies, key client relationships and GSIV’s profitability.

He has come full circle. Being a Schindler business mentee to now being the mentor – investing in skills development for emerging businesses in the industry. Many former staff members have thanked him for giving them the opportunity to start their own businesses and guiding them through mentorship. And just as the Schindler Group became his first client, many of his former employees became sub-contractors to GSIV.
